About The Artist
My love for the outdoors will be a lifetime. Born and raised on a
diary farm in Wisconsin offered me many opportunities. As a child I
walked barefoot in the sandy lanes running my fingers through the tall
grass. Occasionally, I'd happen to catch a glimpse of deer grazing, an
awesome sight for my eyes. I would climb on a big rock and watch the
trees sway, hear the wind and listen to the birds sing. I would watch
the sky day and night to see what unfolded there. I awed at the many
different shades of color especially in fall. In winter, I was aware of
how bare everything looked. Working with the animals, having pets and
observing wildlife gave me a deeper appreciation for them.
In high school art class I began experimenting with pencil drawings
of pets, wildlife and landscape filling many sketch books.
For many years I worked in a cheese factory while always pursuing
my outdoor interest. Finally, in my spare time transferring my
fascination with nature to canvas in color.
My interest of the outdoors expanded when I married, had a family
and moved to northern Minnesota. I am able to share my passion of
hiking and fishing with them adventuring into the wilderness northern
Minnesota offers.
Today, I am still intrigued with the sights, sounds and shades of
the world around me. I devote a lot of my time recreating the beauty of
it in my paintings and being able to share them with you.
